Functionality of a carport
Thanks to its spacious dimensions, the shed offers 3 spaces measuring: 3.77 x 6.80 m for 3 vehicles. The design also includes a utility room measuring 3.18 x 6.80 m. A variety of carport options are offered: single, double and triple carports, with the possibility of customising the colour to suit individual preferences. The utility room is well lit thanks to the use of timber frames and solid polycarbonate, which is the main source of light in the two-station part of this carport.
On special request, we can design preparations for installation passages:
- Passages in the panel for connecting external installations
- The ceiling over the part of the stand adjacent to the gable wall, in which case the space will be accessible from the other stand, or over the two stands where access will be from the utility room.
The standard design there is an open space to the roof. Loft space open to the interior of the shed.
Design
A simple structure with geometric shapes, made of top-quality structural timber, i.e. BSH GL24 SI, and other components made of KVH timber. The structure is additionally impregnated and stained using products of the company OSMO, which makes it resistant to bruising, fungi and adverse weather conditions, including UV radiation. Sturdy load-bearing posts with a cross-section of 18×18 cm guarantee the stability and safety of the structure.
The carport is created using materials from certified sources, making it environmentally friendly.
Technical description:
All construction materials comply with current standards and have approvals and technical approvals in accordance with the Building Act:
- Steel construction joints
- Mechanical anchors for concrete - adjustable, allowing for the correction of any irregularities in the execution of the footings for the columns
- Structural timber BSH and KVH: columns, battens, rafters, wall bracing elements
- Wall fillings: shuttering
- Part-height wall of the utility room on the side of the two-storey part (light into this part)
- Full height wall on the side of the unit
- Floor: concrete slabs, cobblestones or other heavy-duty materials directly on the ground recommended (to be provided by the client).
- Foundation required for embedding the structure: footings for steel-reinforced columns (to be provided by the client)
Timber frame construction:
Between the columns, some of the walls have been used to stiffen the structure. The roof is supported on 13 180×180 mm BSH timber posts and 1 120×120 mm post. The columns are connected to the masonry using structural steel connectors and fixed to the footings using adjustable bases. Sections of the walls are filled with shuttering on both sides. In the utility room, the walls are finished with shuttering on one side, which makes it possible to create niches to be used according to one's needs.
Roof construction:
Pitched roof with a pitch of 30°. Reinforced with full boarding and covered with standing seam metal sheets. The entire roof structure is additionally reinforced with metal ties.
Wood:
- Construction: Scandinavian spruce
- Wall fillings (shuttering): Canadian larch, Scandinavian spruce
Colours
The extensive colour palette offers something for everyone. Depending on your preference, it is possible to achieve a glazing or opaque effect, which will emphasise the aesthetic qualities of the shed. The process of brushing the wood brings out the natural grain, while staining with varnishing enhances the colour. With the appropriate sanding and staining of the wood, a modern look can be achieved according to the customer's requirements. We offer various colour variations to suit any space.
