In practice, the most convenient <a href=\"\/en\/system-canopies\/\">system canopies<\/a>because they have refined mechanics, predictable water routing and are easy to fit into a new or finished terrace.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"jak-dzialaja-zadaszenia-lamelowe-i-co-daje-regulacja-lameli\">How do slatted canopies work and what does slat adjustment offer?<\/h2>\n<p>Slatted canopies act like a roof made of movable slats (lamellas) that rotate on axis and change their angle. This gives you the ability to quickly move from full sun, to gentle shade, to closing the roof for rain. In practice, the adjustment of the lamellas is the biggest reason why lamella canopies are displacing classic pergolas with polycarbonate or fixed sheathing.<\/p>\n<p>In typical implementations, you will encounter either manual (crank) or electric (motor and remote control) control. Manual is cheaper and less maintenance-intensive, electric gives convenience, especially if the roof is, for example, 4 \u00d7 5 m and you use it every day. The louvres themselves usually rotate in a range of about 0-120 degrees, which allows you to adjust the shade without making a dark cave on the terrace.<\/p>\n<p>An important detail from the installation: when the lamellas are closed, the water must have somewhere to drain. Well-designed slatted canopies have hidden gutters in the perimeter beams and a drain in the post, so it doesn't pour over the front edge. The differences are due to the type of control, installation method, timber finish and accessories.<\/p>\n<p>The pricing is also influenced by whether the structure is to stand on ready-made footings\/foundations or whether the ground has to be prepared from scratch. If the terrace is already finished with a board or slab and there are no load-bearing points for the posts, then there is ground work and foundation work. In practice, concrete footings are made under the posts below the frost zone (often 80-120 cm, depending on the region), plus anchors and distance from the ground so that the wood does not stand in water.<\/p>\n<p>In the construction itself, it is not only the size that matters, but also the spans. A 6 m long roof without intermediate supports is a different beam and material work than a 4 m roof. The most important thing is to avoid permanent dirt and moisture deposits in the nooks and crannies at the lamellas, gutters and joints. With a well-chosen waterproofing and oil stain, realistic maintenance is usually 1 every 1-3 years, depending on exposure to sun and rain.<\/p>\n<p>On the practical side, it looks like this: in spring, you wash the structure with a mild wood preservative, check the drains and gutters and then assess the coating. If the sunniest areas show visible dryness or a decrease in water repellency, you add a thin layer of oil or varnish.
